Originally from Cd. Juarez Chihuahua, and later settling in El Paso, Texas, before
making Colorado her home for the past 30 years, Brenda Chavez credits her family as her greatest source of support and inspiration. With deep-rooted values of unity and perseverance, her parents and family have always been her pillar of strength. Today, as a proud mother of three, Brenda finds immense joy in witnessing her children grow into remarkable individuals and professionals.

Fueling her passion for service is an unwavering belief in the transformative power of strong families to shape thriving communities. It was this passion, coupled with firsthand experiences of witnessing struggles like housing instability, food insecurity, and barriers to education, that led her to become a Family Services Coordinator with Eagle County School District. With over two decades of experience in the field, she has seen how providing access to critical resources can completely change a family's trajectory. "I am happy to say that I am part of that positive change," Brenda shared.
Her dedication to her work stems from the progress she sees in the families and individuals she supports. "My biggest motivators are the families and individuals I work with every day," she explained. Their resilience and determination to overcome challenges reaffirm her belief that everyone deserves access to basic needs, opportunities, and encouragement. Whether advocating for families, bridging language barriers, or providing guidance, she strives to make a tangible difference in their lives.
Youth empowerment is another cornerstone of her work. Collaborating with schools, community organizations, and local leaders, she connects young people with mentorship programs, educational opportunities, and mental health resources. By ensuring safe and supportive spaces—be it through after-school programs, job training, or counseling services—she helps pave the way for the next generation to build a brighter future.
When asked to offer advice to the community, her words resonate with hope and encouragement. For youth, Brenda emphasizes the importance of seeking help and staying focused on their goals, recognizing that setbacks are merely steppingstones to success. For parents, she highlights the value of communication and community engagement. Building a strong support system and advocating for their children's needs, she says, can make all the difference in overcoming challenges.
Through her unwavering commitment, Brenda exemplifies the power of compassion and the profound impact of uplifting others. Through personal and professional avenues, she continues to inspire positive change and strengthen the bonds that hold her community together.
